COMBINE DERBY

1. Derby is open to all contestants.

2. Entries will be accepted until 1 week prior to event.

4. Use application form on Website.

5. Entry Fee to pits $25.00

6. Need to be at show 1 hour prior to start.

7. Everyone pays except the driver.

 

Prize money: for each heat: 1st- $200, 2nd - $150, 3rd - $100, 4th - $75

Feature is 1st - $300, 2nd - $200, 3rd - $75.

Note: No prize money will be released until all combines have been removed from the fairgrounds.

 

 

MACHINE PREPARATION RULES & REGULATIONS:

1. Any size of self-propelled combine is allowed and all equipment is to be original (no reinforced parts or shields) and if the combine is a 4 WD, the 4 WD must be disabled.

2. Must use a grain table (NO CORN HEADS) in a fixed position at 18”to 24” above the ground. Remove the hydraulic lift cylinders or weld solid and replace them with stationary supports. You may weld, bolt, and/or use bracing from the feeder house to the head to hold the head on. No more than 36” from center of feeder. No more than four braces for header. Two underneath, either weld cylinders or remove cylinder and brace. Only one brace on each side of feeder head. Brace can be welded to front of head, back to either side of feeder house or axle. Braces can be no larger than four (4) inches.

3. Remove the reel and cut back supports. Front of header no farther than knife bar or front of lift cylinder. No points allowed. Steering arm can be put in front of steering axle. Remove the knife, guards, loose sheet metal, the unloading auger, cab ladder and the drive belt for the separator.

4. Remove the glass from the cab and weld or chain the door shut. Put some kind of driver protection on the cab at least 36 inches high. If you do not have a cab, make a roll cage out of something like 2 inch pipe to protect the driver.

5. The fuel tank must be in the grain tank. Remove the old fuel tank.

6. Driver must have a seat belt and helmet.

7. At the start of the derby all tires must be rubber, filled with air only – no duals.

8. Driver must be 16 years of age or older.

9. Judges decisions are final.

RULES OF THE COMBINE DEMOLITION DERBY:

1. No direct hits to the driver’s area.

2. Must stop machine upon lifting of other machine off wheels to eliminate tip overs.

3. If you are rolled over, the heat will be stopped and your combine will be placed back on its wheels.

4. During the competition you must initiate contact within two (2) minutes. If at any time you cannot make contact   within the time limit you will be disqualified.

5. A maximum of ten (10) minutes between heats for repairs of machine.

6. All motion to be halted upon signal from referees in case of fire, injury, and other emergencies.

7. No hits when opponent is out of bounds.

8. No pit racing.

9. ALL COMBINES MUST BE REMOVED BY SEPTEMBER 1, OR THEY WILL BE REMOVED AT OWNERS EXPENSE.

10. EXPLANATION AT DRIVERS’ MEETING.

11. Need chain in rear to pull off track if possible.
